Baltimore's Untold Role in the Toppling of a King
This July, we introduce a special American Revolution edition of our magazine in honor of Baltimore's untold role in the toppling of a king. Situated between Philadelphia and the final victory in Yorktown, Virginia, the Revolutionary War story in the Old Line State has long been underappreciated. In particular, the crucial role played by local women, African Americans, immigrants, exiles, indentured servants, and foreign allies—in a revolution that reshaped the course of human history—has rarely, if ever, been told completely. In this special issue, we celebrated the efforts of these everyday Baltimoreans.
Also included in the print mag:
🎞️🚘 A photo essay celebrating 70 years of outdoor flicks at Bengie's Drive-In
🦀❤️ Our special crab-centric edition of Local Flavor
⛳️🏌️♀️ A look at how the women of Pitch & Putt Golf Club helped desegregate the city's courses
⚾️🧡 The origin of sports fans shouting "O!" during the "Star Spangled Banner"
